Cabinet card photographs of Russian people by William Carrick, 1871-1872
Cabinet cards portraits of Russian people, mostly posed outdoors, likely from his 1871 expedition to Simbirsk. Paper albumen prints pasted onto card. About half of the cards have William Carrick's mark on the reverse in Russian and English, with the English part covered in tape. Most of the cards have a blue stamp on the reverse reading 'Louise F. MacGregor'. This is likely a relative of Carrick's studio technician John MacGregor, she may have published or sold the prints.
