"Collected and sett downe by W. Smith, citezen of Norembergh," afterwards Rouge-dragon pursuivant at arms. The list of mayors and sheriffs of Chester ends with the year 1585. At the beginning of the volume are the arms of the Norman earls, of the prince of Wales as earl of Chester, of the earl of Derby as steward, and earl of Leicester as chamberlain, and of the eight barons of the county, well executed in colours.
