Dedicated to the earl of Manchester, chancellor of the university. At fols. 27–30 four leaves are inserted from an older MS., containing the names of the officers and professors, etc. in 1628 with the arms of many of them well executed in colours. Probably these form a fragment of a copy of John Scott's account of Cambridge, described in Gough's British Topography, vol. i. pp. 216, 217., all the MSS. of which were executed in different years.

Return from the university of Cambridge sent to the chancellor in Apr 1629, (in pursuance of a requisition from the House of Commons in Feb 1629,) of the names of all persons who since the 13th year of Q. Elizabeth had taught or published anything contrary to the Articles of Religion, and of the acts, censures, recantations, etc. thereon; with an account of the proceedings upon the drawing up the return, Apr 1629
The cases reported amount to fourteen. The return is attested at the end with the signature of James Tabor, registrar of the university.
