Some few insertions are written in red ink, to which the following memorandum, on a scrap inserted in the volume, appears to apply, "Smith, Rouge Dragon, the hand in red." The volume is lettered as being "Brookes' Heraldry;" but since the writer continues his collections to the year 1634, while Brooke died in 1625, this is evidently a mistake. Nor do the earlier portions of the work coincide with the contents of Brookes' printed …
