The first stanza is as follows: "Nobeles all come morne with me / Ladyes wayle in your degree; / Knyghts and gallants bee not slacke, / But turne your cullers all to blacke; / For hee that was to vertue frind / Vntymly death hath wrought his end. / Oh hone allalergo / Allagone hone."
