Ein herverregender Wissenschaftler meldet sich zum Dienst für Volk and Heimat', in which Schrödinger makes his Erklärung of loyalty. No year given, but written at the Anschluss 1938. A translation is appended, provided by Dr Olive Sayce, Feb 1995.

Correspondence and papers Shubin, a Russian physicist, had died of cold in a Soviet labour camp. The correspondence is with S. Vonsovsky who had adopted and brought up Shubin's family after his arrest, and was organizing a memorial volume of his papers, with tributes by colleagues. Among Shubin's papers had been a letter written to Peierls on the Hall effect in ferromagnetism, Mar 1937 but not posted before his arrest. Peierls decided to send a retrospective reply to this letter...
