Biographical / Historical
Anthony Wood (1632–1695) was an antiquary.
Other Finding Aids
Falconer Madan, et al., A summary catalogue of western manuscripts in the Bodleian Library at Oxford which have not hitherto been catalogued in the Quarto series (7 vols. in 8 [vol. II in 2 parts], Oxford, 1895-1953; reprinted, with corrections in vols. I and VII, Munich, 1980), vol. V, nos. 27723-27761.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
There is no record to show when these valuable books came to the Bodleian, but it may be conjectured that after Bishop Tanner's death they were transferred to the Library, in or soon after 1736. In Owen's List they are described as 'Wood's Almanacks, tied up in 3 Bundles.'
