Fragments of liturgical MSS.
Fragments of liturgical MSS., chiefly from bindings, many with musical notes, ranging from the 11th to the 16th centuries. They do not admit of summary treatment:
- Fol. 5 bears 'Carthusieǹ„ prope Erffordiam' and so is probably from a Hamilton MS., see nos. 24431-88
- At fol. 38 is a fragment of an early 13th cent. Prosary, probably of Canterbury, certainly of South England, see Analecta Hymnica, xl. p. 144
- The prose there printed by mr. Bannister, and of which a part is found in the Bodleian fragment, seems to me to have been undoubtedly written for St. Augustine's, Canterbury--not for Christ Church, as he is called in it 'patrone Augustine'
