Custodial History

The volume had apparently descended from the author to his nephew by marriage, dean William Stanley, and from him to a descendant, the rev. -- Stanley, rector of Much Hadham, at the sale of whose library in 1829 the volume was bought by Thomas Thorpe, the London bookseller, from whom dr. M. J. Routh purchased it. It was no. 29 in the Routh sale in 1855, and fetched 17s.

Acquired by The Bodleian Library in 1856.

Bought by the Library in 1856 for £8 18s 6d.
