Collections made by professor J. W. te Water of Leyden on the subject of Arnobius and his treatise Adversus Gentes, consisting of letters, collations, and scattered notes.
The letters (fols. 1-49) are 23 in number, chronologically arranged, and are chiefly addressed to Te Water, 1787-1819, but one is from J. D. ab Hoven to Abr. Gronovius, July 28, 1761, in Latin (fol. 1); among the rest are six from baron van Leyden, 1789-1802, in Dutch (fols. 9, 18a, 25), and two drafts of Latin ones from Te Water himself to the baron, Feb. 15, 1790 (fol. 16), and to Nic. Parquoy, Jan. 13, 1802 (fol. 23).
The collations, etc. are of a Brussels MS., made in 1815 by Ch. van Hulthem (fol. 88, cf. 31a, 39v, 205), of a Brussels MS. of Minucius Felix made by the same (fol. 128), copy of notes by N. Heinsius (fol. 133), collation of a Paris MS. (no. '1661') made by N. Parquoy (fol. 138, cf. 22a), and Latin notes of Joh. Hildebr. Withofius, copied by Te Water (fol. 227a), and of Petrus Burmannus (fol. 236).
