Two works compiled and written by sir Henry Spelman:

  1. Fol. 1. 'Codex legum veterum et statutorum regni Angliae quae ab ingressu Gul. I usque ad Hen. III edita fuerunt opere et studio Henrici Spelman militis collecta. A.D. 1627. Imprimatur John Bramston July 6th 1640'
  2. Notes in another hand on fol. 1 say 'Never yet printed. Dr Gibson should have put it in Sir H.'s Remains. Since published by Wilkins at the end of Leg. Anglo-Sax. fol. London. 1721'
  3. The text beg. 'Gulielmus primus quem alii comitem alii ducem vocant' (fol. 5)
  4. Fol. 424. 'De Icenis. This I found in Mr Crabbe's study'

The leaves of this MS. have been wrongly bound up, as appears by reference to the printed edition in Reliquiae Spelmannianae (Oxford, 1698), pp. 133-62, but it contains some pages and memoranda not in the 1698 edition. For the date Sept. 15, 1630, see fol. 443.
