Biographical / Historical
Arthur Evelyn St. John Waugh (pen name Evelyn Waugh) (1903-1966) was a writer and journalist. Henry Graham Greene (1904-1991) was an author. Waugh and Greene both studied at Oxford and were friends.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
Given by Waterfield's antiquarian booksellers, 20 Jan 2005, in the course of the sale of Vivien Greene's books on behalf of her Estate, 2004.
Existence and Location of Originals
The original letter was sold to the Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center, University of Texas, Austin.
