Autograph letter from Frederic Madden to Philip Bliss with which a separate copy of Madden's Introduction to The old English versions of the 'Gesta Romanorum': edited for the first time from manuscripts in the British Museum and University Library, Cambridge, with an introduction and notes was sent (not present), 27 Oct 1835. In the letter Madden also notes some corrections to the Roxburgh volume and enquires about the newphew of Dr [Bulkeley] B[andine]l. An inserted sheet includes notes, possibly by Bandinel, on the copies of the 'Gesta Romanorum' in the Bodleian Library.
