Transcripts by Joseph Ames, 1755, of extracts made by John Hutchins from John Aubrey's Monumenta Britannica
Copies of many of the drawings, and further extracts, may have been made by Ames at a later date, from the original. The volume includes (p. 300) two notes added by Ames, 1757, 1759, and one by Sir Peter Thompson, 1761, and (pp. 302-305) an index by Ames. There are several other notes by Thompson in the volume. Pages 278-281 of Ames’s pagination are missing.
