Copies of many of the drawings, and further extracts, may have been made by Ames at a later date, from the original. The volume includes (p. 300) two notes added by Ames, 1757, 1759, and one by Sir Peter Thompson, 1761, and (pp. 302-305) an index by Ames. There are several other notes by Thompson in the volume. Pages 278-281 of Ames’s pagination are missing.
