Biographical / Historical

Charles Thomas Scowen was a British photographer active from 1871 to 1890. He worked in Ceylon and British India in the early 1870s. By 1876 Scowen had established a studio, Scowen & Co., in Kandy. By the 1890s, he had opened a second in Colombo. William Skeen was known for photographing tea and coffee cultivation, railways, and landscapes in Asia.
