Written in pencil and perhaps a copy made by the original compiler for J.A.Spender and Cyril Asquith (see concluding remark in volume). Accompanying it (fol. 122) is a letter from Roy Jenkins indentifying the diarist as Lady Edith Agnes Kathleen Scott (later Lady Kennet)
  5. (fol. 137) letter to Vivian Phillips from A.Tilney Bassett, 1929, offering his services in connection with the projected biography of Asquith, with copy of stock letter presumably used in reply
