Records of the Oxford Medico-Chirurgical Society, 1836-1876

The 'Rules' of the society state that it 'consists of Practitioners resident in this city and Neighbourhood, and is instituted for the cultivation of Medical and Surgical Science, for the circulation of Books, and the formation of a permanent Library'. They also state that 'A Meeting shall be held on the second Wednesday in every month...at the house of each Member in rotation, for electing Members, relating Cases, Medical Conversation, and transacting any business of the Society.'
