The letters dated 1940, 1942, 1943 and 1944 are mainly short notes from academics and librarians responding to Clementi's questions about maps; astronomy; Vandal history (specifically Victor Cartennensis); Greek, Egyptian and Chinese history and the correct spellings and origins of words.
