- File 1: 'Order of Proceedings at the Laying of the Foundation Stone of the Bodleian Extension by Her Majesty Queen Mary, 25 June 1937'; programme for 'The Opening of the New Library by His Majesty King George VI. 24th October 1946' with transcripts of the addresses made on the day and a photocopy of a report of proceedings in Oxford, no. 2, winter 1946-7, pp. 37-40.
- File 2: photocopies of war time orders and advice to Bodleian Library staff; extracts relating to the New Bodleian from the annual reports of the Curators of the Bodleian Library from 1937 to 1963; 'The Bodleian in War-Time' extracted from Edmund Craster's The History of the Bodleian Library, 1845-1945 (Oxford University Press, 1952) with postcard showing war-time salvage vehicle in Oxford in c.1940; extracts from the local press in 1939 on the New Library; photocopies of relevant Library Records handlists and other papers, 1950-2008; miscellaneous papers about the New Library during the war including photocopies from various publications, 1940-2014.
- File 3: Papers relating to the Educational Books Section of the War Organisation of the British Red Cross Society and Order of St John of Jerusalem (Prisoners of War Department) which was run by Ethel Herdman from the New Bodleian.
- File 4: Papers relating to the work of the Inter-Services Topographical Department, under Colonel Sam Bassett of Naval Intelligence, located in the New Bodleian including extracts and photocopies.
