Asks Compton to write to Archbp. Ross and Bp. Rose, and ask them for a plain and categorical answer to the question whether if episcopacy were restored, they would take the oath to the Queen, which the Lord Justice Clerk, Lord Tarbat's brother says, after communing with them, they will not do; hopes that, notwithstanding, a due allowance will be made to them from the revenues of their sees.
