The Princess has written to King James on behalf of Bishop Compton, with relation to the proceedings of the Eccles. Commissioners against him; an account of Dr. Burnet's proceedings at the Dutch court: his "intolerable impudence and pressing importunity" too often gain him private interviews with the Princess, but "he is of so bad repute with all good churchmen of London, both clergy and laity, that nothing can be spoken more to her R. H.'s injury than to say she is a favourer of him, and therefore this must be prevented as soon as can be;" Dieren, 26 Aug 1686
