Petition from Lewis Girard, gent., to the House of Commons, setting forth that he has made discoveries of lands settled for the maintenance of Jesuits and seminary priests, so that upon an inquisition already executed they have found in Oxfordshire alone lands to the value of £50,000 so appropriated, and praying that an Act of Parliament may be introduced to enable them to prosecute their search, providing that no such discoveries extend beyond the first year of K. James, and that the prosecutor pay all costs in case of vexatious and unreasonable prosecution, 6 Mar 1701
