Among these are the following:

  1. (fol. 23) Argument, addressed by Swinburn to the archbp. of York, on the question whether Filey [or Filing] was a chapelry to Whitby.
  2. (fol. 26) Letter to the archbp. of Cant. from Dr. W. Lewyn, respecting an application from Mr. Dethick for a license to exercise some ecclesiastical jurisdiction although a layman; dated "from the house of Mr. Wrighte over againste St Antlynde Churche in London;" 17 Jul 1584.
  3. (fol. 28) Letter from Swinburn to a bishop respecting his power to dispense with vicars' residence; 4 Jan 1603.
  4. (fols. 39, 40) Letter to Swinburn from the bishop of Durham, with questions respecting the canons' residence; with a draught of Swinburn's reply; 2 Nov 1584.
