The Ely letters (from 1638) are almost entirely on Wren's private affairs and the management of his estates. A letter is inserted at the end (fol. 18*) from Wren to Mr. Matthew Ensam at the parsonage, Ellington, Hunts, about the purchase of two horses; Newmarket, 10 Mar 1633.

Prefixed (on fol. 1b) is a list of clergy, dated 1643, with notes added about 1657 of those that were then deceased.
