Copies of papers relating to the alleged abduction of one Jane Puckering from Greenwich by Joseph Welsh, and her confinement in a nunnery at Nieuport in Flanders:

  1. a French translation of a letter from her cousin Magdalene Smith, 23 Nov 1649;
  2. another of a letter from one J. Gavenor (or Gravanor, as he is afterwards called);
  3. a memorial to the King of Spain from Joseph Welsh, representing Jane Puckering to be his lawful wife;
  4. a representation from the agent of the English parliament;
  5. an order from the King of Spain referring the case to the Vicars of the diocese of Ypre for their advice thereupon, 12 Jan 1650.
