The volume is described in a note by Dr. Bliss as being "Adversaria" of Francis Drope, B.D., Fellow of Magd. Coll., because there occurs on fol. 145 an acknowledgment by him of money received from "Mr. Stafford" on returning from holding manor-courts for various estates of Magdalene College, in Oxon, Bucks, and Berks, in the year 1667; but the handwritings are different, and the real writer appears to be the above-named Charles Stafford, B.D., of Magd. College. The first sermon (on fol. 30) is headed "Wanden, [16] 82, 84," and Stafford was then the Vicar of Wavendon, Bucks (which is doubtless the place designated), while Drope died in 1671.

Prefixed to the sermons are large extracts, in another hand, from the Encheiridium anatomicum of Joh. Riolanus.
