Occasional notes are added of the deaths of the pensioners etc. to the commencement of 1742. Among the names are those of Geo. Fred. Handel £400, Ruperta Howe ("died 4 July, 1741," the natural daughter of Prince Rupert) £500, and Edw. Young, LL. D., £200. To the name of Stephen Lynch, which occurs twice, a pensioner for £300 (who was a witness against Layer on his trial for a plot in 1723) are added in both instances, in red ink, the words, "the price of blood."
