Part of Archbishop Spottiswood's History of the Church of Scotland ; from the year 1596 to the end, 1625, 17th century
Considerably shorter than the printed narrative (fol. Lond. 1655, where, at the foot of p. 426, this copy begins), and possibly a transcript (by a contemporaneous hand) from an original draught which was afterwards enlarged.
At the end is an appendix of documents which are, for the most part, incorporated in the text of the printed history: viz.
