Survey of the county of Norfolk in the time of Edw. II., entitled: "Copia de nominibus villarum et dominorum earundem, com. Norff., in custodia Remem. Thes. de Scaccario reman., super breve domini regis Edwardi filii Regis Edwardi certificat. cujus brevis teste v.to die Marc, anno regis (sic.) sui nono;" scil. A.D. 1316.

A copy of the writ is prefixed; and at the end are the following indices:

  1. (fol. 62) Index of names of the lords of manors, with their respective possessions.
  2. (fol. 115) Index of the hundreds, with the several towns and villages contained within each.
  3. (fol. 130) Index of the towns and villages, with the hundreds to which they belong.

Two leaves (fols. 8, 9.) are wanting in the survey, containing the greater part of the hundreds of Depewade and Diss.

Custodial History

On a flyleaf at the beginning is the name of "Myles Corbet;" and on the reverse of the last leaf in the book is the following entry: "Godwick. Rec. this booke of Mr. Becke for the furtherance of my lords service vpon Ascencone day, 1626. Geor. Elmeden."

Number 250 in the library of Charles Montagu, earl of Halifax.
