Olim liber Petri Le Neve, in cujus catalogo numero 39 designatus est. Nota sequens, quæ ad hunc codicem una cum aliis hic jamjam descriptis refert, in volumine affixa est;— "Manuscripts relating to the county of Essex and other counties within the feodary of the dutchy of Lancaster. These MSS. are valuable, and were formerly of P. le Neve, esq., from whose collection they were purchas'd by Cha. Hornby, esq., who in Sept. 1739 died feodary of the dutchy of Lancaster, when they again were purchas'd (under the hammer) by Dr. R. Rawlinson at Cock's auction, mense Oct. 1739. E. U"[mfreville.]
