The preface is signed,"William Aspinwall," and dated, "Boston in New England, the 12. of the I. mo. called March, anno Domini 1652, mundi 5582 current." The work contains tables of all the years from the creation, with the events recorded in the Scriptures assigned to their proper dates.

On the title-page is a recommendatory notice by Joseph Caryl, dated 7 Dec 1652; and on the first fly-leaf is the following memorandum by Dr. Rawlinson; "Whether this piece was ever printed or not, I cannot find; but that it was designed for the press is plain, by the original license at the beginning given by Jos. Caryll, a well-known dissenting teacher. R + R."
