An index of names is prefixed.

With respect to the pedigrees, which (see Custodial History) were formerly bound up in this volume, Le Neve has made the following note on the first leaf: "Miscellaneous pedigrees, coats and crests, by Norgate, Windsor, and Taylor, paynter. Norgate, Windsor herald's book formerly; now, 1723, belonging to Peter Le Neve, Norroy. Norgates hand is the finest hand; the most of this book is the handwriting of John Taylor, formerly a painter of arms liveing 1641, as appears by his note fol. 72b; Taylor with a base hand and false spelling."

Custodial History

Folio sexto sunt hæc, manu P. Le Neve: "Memd., this book is the handwriting of John Taylor, a painter, who I think lived in Fleetstreat, as I have reason to think by his subscription to a pedigree of Hatt dated 1641, which is in a book bound up by itself of pedigrees and coats, the leaves whereof I took out of this cover, and I have titled it, Pedigrees, coats and crests by Norgate and Taylor; this being the account of funeral work done by him. Ita testor, Peter Le Neve, Norroy, 21 of Mar. 1724." Cf. catal. bibl. ejus, sub numero 742.
