Custodial History

At the beginning is the following note: "♂ 5 March, 1733/4 bought this book for 11s. -d. at the sale by auction of the MSS. of Tho. Rawlinson, esq. deceased. Vide catalogue 16th., pa. 10., no. 144. Oliver Acton."

The catalogue of T. Rawlinson's MSS. states that this volume "seems to have been King Charles the First's book;" apparently from its bearing his arms impressed upon the cover.
