Prefixed is a notice of the "Premiere institution de lordre de St. Jean de Hierusalem, suivant l'histoire Hierosolymitaine de Jacques de Vitry."

The paintings of arms commence with those of Alphonso of Portugal, Grand Master 1201–1204, and end with those of John de Lascaris, 1636–1657.
