- File 2, fols. 1-63: Correspondence with Colonial Office and League of Nations officials about Lugard's role as British Representative on the Permanent Mandates Commission and suggested nominations of those who might succeed him, with notes by Lugard of his interview with Ormsby-Gore when he was invited to serve, 1922-1940.
- File 3, fols. 1-20: Corrected typescript of Lugard's Encyclopaedia Britannica article on the Mandate System, [c.1923].
- File 4, fols. 1-62: Letters from Lady Lugard to Edward Lugard, sent from Geneva, Jul-Aug 1923, where she had accompanied her husband to the first session of the Mandates Commission at which he had acted as official British Representative, with transcripts made in 1926 for L.S. Amery.
- File 5, fols. 1-20: Notes on the sessions of the Commission, 1921-1931, listing the part played by Lugard and the memoranda prepared by him, n.d. These notes are probably the work of Margery Perham.
- File 6, fols. 1-24: Correspondence about Lugard's resignation from the Mandates Commission and his proposal to Malcolm Macdonald that Margery Perham would be a suitable person to succeed Lord Hailey, who had succeeded Lugard on his recommendation, 1936.
- File 7, fols. 1-14: Formal recognition by the Mandates Commission of Lugard's services and tributes paid to him by the press, 1936.
- File 8, fols. 1-76: Correspondence with colleagues on the Permanent Mandates Commission and others who paid tribute to his work and expressed regret at his resignation, 1936.
- File 9, fols. 1-15: Correspondence about William Rappard's visit to England and Lugard's desire to have him nominated a member of the Athenaeum, 1942.
- File 10, fols. 1-55: Correspondence about a pamphlet on the Mandates System that Lugard was asked to write for the Royal Institute of International Affairs, 1943.
- File 11, items 1-2: Lugard's notes for and draft of the pamphlet for the Royal Institute of International Affairs, c. 1943, with the printed list of Works relating to the Mandates System and the Territories under Mandate catalogued in the Library of the League of Nations, 1934.
