- File 1, fols. 1-21: Verses written by Lugard, 1882-1903. [Formerly in a folder marked by Margery Perham "Verses, pictures, etc (5)"]
- File 2, fols. 1-11: Verses written by "Celia", the young divorcée with whom Lugard was in love when a young soldier in India, 1880s. [Formerly in a folder marked by Margery Perham "Verses, pictures, etc (5)"]
- File 3, fols. 1-56: "Song of Sorts", a notebook containing transcripts of songs from, for example, H.M.S. Pinafore, verses by Kipling and others, made while Lugard was a second lieutenant in Peshawar, 1879. [Formerly in a folder marked by Margery Perham "Verses, pictures, etc (5)"]
- File 4, fols. 1-17: Miscellaneous press cuttings referring to Lugard during his campaign for the retention of Uganda under the protection of the British crown, 1892-1893. They were assembled in 1936 by Edward Lugard for the use of his brother's biographer in case he should predecease him. [Formerly in a folder marked by Margery Perham "B Religion & Philosophy (4)"]
- File 5, fols. 1-51: Letters from Frederick Lugard to his brother, 1893-1944.
- File 6, fols. 1-3: Two letters about Lugard's benefactions, one a copy, 1896 and 1945.
- File 7, fols. 1-10: Transcripts of letters from Flora Lugard to L.S. Amery about her husband's need of employment after leaving Nigeria, to a parlour-maid who was leaving her service, and to a friend or relation about Lugard's manner on learning of his peerage; also correspondence between Edward Lugard and Miss Moberly Bell about the Hong Kong section of her biography of Lady Lugard, 1907-1946.
- File 8, fols. 1-6: Scraps of information about his brother collected by Edward Lugard, including a reference prepared by Lugard for his secretary, Violet Townshend, who, by 1944, had served him for 15 years and would need further employment after his death, 1918-1946.
- File 9, fols. 1-10: Lugard's views on religion, including some correspondence, 1926-1945. [Formerly in a folder marked by Margery Perham "B Religion & Philosophy (4)"]
- File 10, fols. 1-11: Edward Lugard's assessment of his brother for the use of a biographer, with relevant correspondence with Margery Perham, 1939-1948. [Formerly in a folder marked by Margery Perham "B Religion & Philosophy (4)"]
- File 11, fols. 1-8: Correspondence with the editor of the Biographical Encyclopaedia of the World about the section on Lord Lugard, 1944.
- File 12, fols. 1-2 and item 1: "The Work of the War Refugees Committee: an address given by Lady Lugard to the Royal Society of Arts, March 24", 1915.
