- File 1, fols. 1-13: Letters of congratulation to Flora Shaw on her impending marriage, cutting from Truth in which one of her inquisitors over the Jameson Raid pays tribute to her and congratulates Lugard, 1902-1903. Also a list of names of those who contributed to a wedding present from the Nigerian staff, with a covering letter from the Acting Secretary to the Government, P.W. Anderson.
- File 2, fols. 1-25: Letters from individuals who worked with Lugard paying tribute to him as guide and mentor, with a verse by Phelan, the International Labour Organization representative on the League of Nations Slavery Committee, 1904-1944.
- File 3, fols. 1-27: Press cuttings paying tribute to Lugard and recounting details of his career and influence, 1919-1938.
- File 4, fols. 1-16: Birthday congratulations sent to Lugard, 1938-1945.
- File 5, fols. 1-11: Lugard's list of those to whom he sent Christmas cards, 1938.
- File 6, fols. 1-116: Bound volume of selected letters to and from Lugard, 1893-1940.
- File 7, items 1-4: Some extracts from "A Book of Remembrance, 1858-1945" compiled by his brother Edward, with the second slip-proof, a typed introductory passage, apparently not used, and the order of service for Lugard's memorial service in Westminster Abbey, 1945-1946.
- File 8, fols. 1-31: Letters of appreciation of the "Book of Remembrance" addressed to Edward Lugard, 1946.
