File
MS. Add. A. 68
Held at the Weston Library
Subject index ('Synopsis subjectorum' or 'Index Materiarum' of printed books in the Bodleian. It consists of lists under a large number of heads (not alphabetically arranged) for the faculty of Arts (which included philosophy, history, music, mathematics, and the like), and was compiled in about 1625-30, but there is one entry of 1671, on fol. 55, cf. 68. In both the titles and press-marks are given. The volume may be part of a general scheme of subject indexes for the Bodleian, such as was Verneuil's for Theology, published in 1635.
