Papers concerning the Loveday family and property, comprising mainly correspondence, solicitors’ accounts, valuations upon purchase, but also including:
- (fols. 4-5) letter to Dr. John Loveday concerning land in Alkerton, Oxon., leased to Miller in 1798;
- (fols. 8-13) receipts for legacies under the will of Dr. John Loveday, 1814-1820;
- (fols. 14-66) letters and receipts relating to John Loveday’s purchase of Steel’s estate in Williamscote, Oxon., 1818-1820;
- (fols. 67-205) letters, receipts and valuations of the leasehold property of the bishop of Oxford and the reserved rents of the same, which were leased to the family and then purchased by John Loveday in 1863, c.1768-1863, including (fol. 94) a letter from Charles Moss, bishop of Oxford, 1810;
- (fols. 206-225) proceedings in the vestry and manor court of Williamscote concerning the stopping of a foot-path from Williamscote to Wardington, 1843;
- (fols. 226-234) letters and memoranda relating to John Loveday’s purchase of the Eaves’ estate in Williamscote, Oxon., 1864-1882;
- (fols. 235-240) accounts and receipts of work done for J.E.T. Loveday by Munton and Stockton of Banbury, solicitors, 1880-1888;
- (fol. 247) letter to J.E.T. Loveday concerning the expense of repairing three roads, 1894.
