Immediate Source of Acquisition

The majority of the papers were purchased by the Library in 1970. MSS D.D. Loveday c. 1-13 were deposited in 1967, 1971 and 1972 by Mrs. S. Markham and Mrs. C. James, daughters of Dr. Thomas Loveday and by by Messrs. Stockton, Sons and Fortescue, solicitors.

Ownership of MSS. D.D. Loveday c. 1-13 was transferred to the Bodleian in 2020.
