(fols. 1-129) for private letters, 1852-64, from named correspondents, including Lord Malmesbury, Lord Clarendon, Lord John Russell, and the Foreign Office, with one (fol. 128) annotated 'a foolish letter', from Sir William Codrington, 1864, many with notes of the contents of the letters or of Crampton's movements (e.g. fol. 69, with a note of the date of Crampton's arrival at St. Petersburg in 1858)
  2. (fols. 130-216) for private letters received, 1863-7, with some notes of Crampton's movements, and (fol. 147) a newspaper cutting, 1864.
