Papers relative to the Harington family, written in the 15th and 16th century
Papers relative to the Harington family in the 15th-16th centuries which seem to be part of the same collection as MS. Add. C. 259. The chief items are:
- (fol. 3) presentations to the rectory of Badsworth in Yorkshire from 1420 to 1496, in Latin;
- (fol. 4) a copy of a petition from Thomas Wentworth and another to Henry viii for release from a bond, in which Sir James Harington late dean of York was concerned, soon after 1512, with other papers relating to the affair;
- (fol. 6) a copy of a petition from Richard Beaumont to Henry viii for a reversal of the attainder of Sir Richard Harington, with several more papers on the subject, including (fol. 10) an inquisitio post mortem taken at Preston in Lancashire on the death of sir James Harington, Sept. 24, 1487.
