Custodial History
These two volumes (along with MS. Junius 86) were given (as MSS. Junius 25, 27) to Junius by Isaac Vossius, for proof of which see MS. Junius 45, fol. 9. Fol. 43v has a (? contemporary) note 'Teobaldus Ade de Richeborg', no doubt meaning Richborough in Kent, which is made likely by the linguistic characteristics of the text.
Bibliography
- The charms at fol. 17 are printed in Cockayne's Leechdoms , i. 392-4; fols. 18-24 are in Thorpe's Homilies , ii. 98-108. On fols. 40, 57, 62 are versions of the homilies nos. 4, 16, 18 in Morris's Blickling Homilies , and on fol. 3 one corresponding in part to no. xiv in Assmann's Bibl. der angels. Prosa , vol. iii, but the rest appears to be unprinted.
- Napier prints in Zeitschrift für deutsch. Alterthum , n.F., xix (1887), pp. 52-4, a fragment of an O.E. version of Boethius which in 1886 formed the last leaf of this manuscript, but which has since been lost.
