File
MS. Eng. c. 2449
Held at the Weston Library
The Working Group was set up following an initiative on behalf of the Dutch delegation by A. Rörsch. An ad hoc working group met informally in May 1973 after the signing ceremony of the laboratory Agreement. The terms of reference of the working group were to consider the future of the Conference Agreement and whether it should be continued without change, amended or discontinued. Much of the discussion bore on the "scientific philosophy" of EMBC and how far its scope might be expanded to include other research areas such as Brain and Behaviour (EBBO), Cell Biology (ECBO) and Cancer Research (EORTC).
The Chairman was E. Andres, and the working group is regularly referred to as the "Andres Working Group".
