A short bestiary, partly from Isidorus's Etymologiae, written in the first half of the 13th cent.
Beg. [rubric]'De natura leonis, bestiarum seu animalium regis, [text] Etenim Iacob benedicens ... Phisiologus dicit tres res': ends in a chapter de lupo rapaci, 'Cerberus nostro gaudens interitu.' There are several pictures of animals. A bookplate (lamp on books, foliage, etc.) with 'No. 146' and the motto 'studio minuente laborem' is in the book, and may belong to -- Sharpe of Coventry, from whom Douce obtained the volume by exchange (see MS.
