The annual reports contain accounts, research grants acquired, equipment purchased, a list of staff, staff publications, and a detailed scientific report on the work undertaken. Also includes a five year report, 1988.

This report was written in 1999 when the responsibilities of the Trust were passed to the University. It contains a brief history of the unit, a summary of its achievements, a list of all the trustees past and present, a list of staff who attained higher degrees whilst working for the unit and a list of staff publications. There is a supplement at the end of the report, written in 2005, listing staff publications, 1999-2005.
