Letters from Joan, Jill and Judith Moody to their parents and others, 1932-1953

The letters reflect the following events in the Moody sisters' lives. Joan Moody was placed in boarding school in St Andrew's, Fife, in 1934 and was joined there by Jill in 1935. Judith followed them to St Leonard's School in 1946. On leaving school in 1940 Joan, accompanied by Mrs Ewing, went to Mauritius. She left the island in July 1943 intending to join the Women's Royal Naval Service (W.R.N.S.) in East Africa and was drowned when her ship, S.S. Hoi How, was torpedoed just…
