Nicholson served on the Council's UK Committee for International Nature Conservation. Correspondence and papers regarding various NCC business, including a few letters to Nicholson from the Director-General and Chairman, and papers of the Committee mentioned above.

The Club formed in 1957 to keep serving and past Nature Conservancy staff in touch with the Conservancy's work. Nicholson was a member and also served on the Tansley Club Committee.

The Club was established in the early 1990s as informal gatherings of staff gatherings of staff from the former Nature Conservancy / Nature Conservancy Council. Nicholson became Patron in 1993.
