Custodial History
All manuscripts (except 'Macbeth') were bequeathed by the composer to his nephew, Herbert Sullivan and then inherited by Mrs E.M. Bashford (Herbert Sullivan's widow). Sold at Sotheby's, 13 June 1966 (lots 190, 194, 193, 185, 176, 170 and 168) to various buyers. They were subsequently acquired piecemeal by Colin Prestige.
Immediate Source of Acquisition
Bequeathed by Colin Prestige to Oriel College, Oxford, 2004 and transferred to the Bodleian Library on deposit, 2006.
