File 2: 11 images of Sierra Leone including Freetown (9 coloured and 1 black & white), 3 images of Togo (2 coloured taken by Jacob Vitta, Tarkwa, and 1 black & white by Carl Muller, Altenburg, South Africa) and 2 images of a girl in Cameroons (black & white taken by Jacob Vitta, Tarkwa).
File 3: 1 black & white images of 'La caravan emigre' in Tunisia ('Impre. de France, ALAIN, 12 rue Lecuirot, Paris'), 1 black & white images of a young woman in Senegal, 1 black & white image of a mother of twins in Lagos, Nigeria, 1 black & white image of 'Kongnague de Boke (En Costume National)' in Guinea, and 2 unidentified black & white images.

Biographical / Historical

The postcards were collected by Harry Martin who worked for the trading firm F. and A. Swanzy in the Gold Coast in the early 20th century. A few of the postcards were posted and are addressed to H.S. Rosenthal, an agent of F. and A. Swanzy.
